Purpose: To maintain annually an accurate list of active members of First Unitarian Universalist Society of Exeter

This policy’s purpose is to maintain annually an accurate list of active members of the First Unitarian Universalist society of Exeter (FUUSE),

1. Each October, the current membership list will be reviewed by the Membership committee.
2. The Membership committee member(s) will submit to the minister a list of members who (1) have not pledged in the current and previous year, and (2) are perceived to be inactive by observed absence at FUUSE services or activities, and (3) other circumstances.
3. With the recommendation of the minister, those members who meet criteria in #2 will be contacted by phone, email or mail by the membership committee to determine their wish to remain members of FUUSE.
4. A list will be generated by the membership committee of people who want to be removed from the list and a list of people who did not respond to the request. This list will be presented to the BOT, who will then vote on the changes.
5. Members who wish to relinquish their membership will be removed from the active member list and will be sent a follow-up letter by the office honoring their request and advising them they have been removed from the active member list.
6. The list as voted on by the BOT will then be forwarded to the Office Administrator by mid-February, who will make the necessary changes in the database.
